Wednesday's Youth Activity

I was asked to do a Mother and Son's activity based on cooking.
I decided to use cooking on a budget as my theme and asked some missionaries how much they have for food each week.  Based on that info i went shopping and provided the young men with a range of foods to choose from.  they were then given a budget of £3 for a day and asked to work out what they would eat.
I then sent them to the kitchen with their Mum and their ingredients and stood back.

Here are the results!!

We're off to the Panto...Oh yes we are!

On the way to the Panto we went out for tea in Swansea.  The food was great and really quick. Thanks Grandad for treating us.

You'll never eat all that Martha!

Here we are at the Swansea Grand waiting for the show to start.  It was Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs , with real famous dwarfs, the ones from "Charlie and the Chocolate factory", "Willow" and "Harry Potter"!  We all enjoyed it, even Gareth laughed this year!

I must add here that while we were there Mum bought us tickets to see Joseph, we are all very excited,
Thanks Mum.

National Botanic Garden of Wales

Calvin had his ear to the ground and found out that the botanic gardens were free during January so we decided to pay a visit.

Just as well we did because we found this really rare and exotic flower in the glass dome.

Hang on a minute....haven't I seen that somewhere before Grandad?

It was Gareth's idea...........honest.
You really shouldn't play tricks like that on your Grandad.......
he would never do anything like that to you!!!!

A Busy Day

Martha had a busy day at home with Granny and Grandad....don't tell Ross!

She played Phase 10

She played Scrabble

And she learned to knit!
Well done Granny, Grandad and I were going nuts just watching but your patience was just what was needed.

It was all too much for 1 member of the family!

Christmas Number 3

We had a fantastic time with my Mum and Dad.  We left the tree up beyond twelfth night, but we didn't seem to have any bad luck.  We had a full on Christmas dinner with all the trimmings and the traditional trip to the panto.  We even had a few carols!  Thanks Mum and Dad for all our lovely presents and for traveling so far to see us.

Just Hanging Out

Martha said to me the other day "Mum I want to do what teenage girls do"
I wondered what she could possibly mean so I said"What's that then Martha"
"I want to hang out!" she replied
"How do you do that then?"
"You just sit on a wall and swing your legs and chat"

Gareth has been out with some friends today and he was explaining that they had got a bit bored and run out of ideas of what to do.  "Martha has a great idea for you Gareth"
Next time you just need to find a wall, sit on it and swing your legs!

Dad offered to try out this new phenomenon after tea, here are the results!

" I don't think this is as exciting as you thought is it Martha"
"Well I don't think you're supposed to do it in the dark with your Dad in the garden, you're supposed to do it after school with your friends in the town."

Maybe you just weren't swinging your legs enough Calvin!
